Terms of Service
Effective May 2026
By using Reila you agree to these terms. They cover what we provide, what we expect from you, and what happens if something goes wrong. We've kept the language as plain as possible — if anything is unclear, email us.
1. What Reila is
Reila is a software platform for South African driving schools, the instructors who work with them, and the students who learn through them. We provide K53 study tools, a school directory, and the back-office software schools use to run their lessons. We are not a driving school. We don't teach anyone to drive ourselves.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 17 years old (the SA learner's-licence age) to register.
- You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access.
- You may only have one Reila account at a time.
3. K53 content
The K53 study and practice features are provided as study aids. They're based on the South African K53 manual and updated periodically, but we don't guarantee you'll pass the official test. The official outcome is decided by the Department of Transport, not by us.
4. Lessons and payments
When you book lessons, pay invoices, or arrange driving tests through your school's portal on Reila, your contract is with that driving school — not with Reila. Reila facilitates the booking and the payment record but isn't a party to the lesson agreement. Any complaints about lesson quality, refunds, or instructor conduct are between you and the school.
5. Driving schools
Schools that use Reila to run their business agree to a separate subscription agreement. This Terms of Service applies to their student-facing and instructor-facing experiences. Schools are responsible for the accuracy of the data they enter on Reila and for the conduct of their instructors.
6. What you can't do
- Use Reila for anything illegal.
- Try to access another user's account or data.
- Scrape or republish the K53 content. It's for personal study only.
- Misrepresent yourself to a driving school (e.g. join under a fake name).
7. Free vs paid
The K53 study features and the student / instructor apps are free. Schools pay a monthly subscription to run their business on Reila. If we ever introduce paid features for students or instructors, we'll keep the K53 study free.
8. Service availability
We aim for high availability but Reila is provided “as is”. Planned downtime will be announced in-app where possible. We're not liable for any loss that results from Reila being unavailable.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your Reila account at any time — see the Privacy Policy for the data-removal process. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll update the “Effective” date and notify you in-app for material changes. If you keep using Reila after a change, you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
